Symptomtext
Pt had 1st dose of Moderna vaccine yesterday 4/9. Less than 5 min after vaccination pt had some jerking of limbs lasting about a minute per nurse & wife account. No LOC, no foaming at mouth, no incontinence. Did have eye deviation upwards & was groggy for about a minute but quickly was alert & able to answer questions & had a normal MSE. Vitals stable. Pt reports he is afraid of needles/blood. No hx of seizures & not on any meds. He also reported he felt faint after receiving vaccine. He was sent to ER by ambulance for further evaluation of possible seizure. Spoke to pt at home today 4/10, had ER evaluation - lab tests and heart studies; no radiological studies. All results normal. Pt reports he is feeling fine and has had no further symptoms or side effects. Recommended pt to discuss with PCP whether to take 2nd dose Moderna.
