arm hurt; This is a spontaneous report received from contactable reporter(s) (Other HCP). The reporter is the patient. A 66 year-old male patient received bnt162b2 (BNT162B2), administered in arm, administration date 18Dec2020 (Lot number: EK57303121) at the age of 64 years as dose 1, single for covid-19 immunisation. The patient had no relevant medical history. There were no concomitant medications. The following information was reported: PAIN IN EXTREMITY (non-serious) with onset Dec2020, outcome "unknown", described as "arm hurt". Relevant laboratory tests and procedures are available in the appropriate section. Additional information: Consumer calling about the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine who says he had an adverse reaction to it and also wants to know if anyone else had this too. Reporter type: Caller says that he is a pharm medic, clarified to he works as a firefighter and a paramedic, and also works in the ER as a tech, a CPT, he is a phlebotomist in the ER. Provider address/Email Address: Unknown. Caller says that his Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine card information was handwritten, and his reaction was with the second dose of the two. He says that he is hoping he can read the handwriting, but his first dose was on 18Dec2020 with LOT: EK57303121, documented as provided. Caller says there was no NDC/EXP provided for his first dose, and he got his doses at the hospital where he works. He says he got his second dose 07Jan2021 with LOT: EJ168603121, documented as provided. Caller says there was no EXP or NDC provided. Indication: Caller says he works in the ER and is required to get it, he didn't really want to get it. AE: Caller says he had the adverse reaction after the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which of course his arm hurt, then on the second day he had a slight fever and was feeling like crap. He says he ended up throwing PVCs which he could see when he put on an EKG on himself, and then a few days later at work he could see PVCs and he ended up with an infection, or something wrong with his glands. He says his glands swelled, his tonsils were inflamed, and his saliva glands were blocked up. He says his glands in his neck and armpit area swelled up, and he had pain around his neck and severe pain on the sides of his neck below his ear down, under both ears, so bilateral. He says his arm hurt as soon as got he got the shot, minutes later, and he felt that like after he got the shot and it got worse and really hurt for three days. He says his arm hurt like he got a shot after he got the first dose the same, and it is not just a hurt feeling. He says he had a fever the second day after he got his second dose, it was just under 100, so a low grade fever, like he got the flu, he just felt bad, but did not have nausea or nothing. He says he felt weak, tired, and had a headache. He says he had had PVCs on the day after getting the second dose, and then when he got to work a couple days after he was still having them, he has an EKG machine here at home and a monitor with 12 leads at work. AE Treatment/PC: Caller says for treatment his PMD which he first started seeing for this with telehealth prescribed him antibiotics after he told them he was having some difficulty breathing from the swelling in his throat, and they gave him inhalers and steroids and that didn't do anything, so the next day he went to the emergency department where he works and they did tests and put him on different antibiotics and what have you. He says the next day he went back to the ER and they did a CT scan that showed his glands were swollen and his tonsils were inflamed and his saliva glands were blocked. He says they treated him with pain medication and told him to take Sour Patch Kids to unblock salivary glands, which did work. Caller says the steroids he took are unknown, he had to take 6 one day and then it tapered off, Unspecified steroid NDC/LOT/EXP: Unknown. He says for the antibiotics he was prescribed Cipro by one and then Keflex, and they tried to prescribe him a Z-Pak but he has reaction to Z-Pak so he didn't get that one.
