shivering cannot control; chills; tiredness; weakness; joint pain; everything was sore; pain in her right arm/arm really hurt; This is a spontaneous report from a contactable consumer (patient). A 56-year-old female patient received bnt162b2 (PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE) dose 1 via an unspecified route of administration, administered in right arm on 05Apr2021 (Lot Number: PFER8737) (at age 56 years old) as single dose for covid-19 immunisation. Medical history included migraine because once in a while she can't get rid of it. She confirms she had this event prior to the COVID vaccine. There were no concomitant medications. The patient previously received flu shot on an unspecified date for immunization. The patient had the 1st dose of the PFIZER-BIONTECH COVID-19 VACCINE last 05Apr2021 and 6 days after the 1st dose she experienced pain in her right arm, shivering cannot control and lasted for 45 mins, joint pain, headache, tiredness, weakness. She took paracetamol (TYLENOL) but it did not resolve the pain. She took ibuprofen instead. She was asking if it is normal to have these side effects 6 days after getting the vaccine and how long it usually last. Her second dose will be given on 09Apr21 and she was asking if she can still get the 2nd shot due to the symptoms. She stated she had some pretty rough side effects from it including chills. She was calling to find out if she is going to be okay. She stated she has all the symptoms listed except for nausea, fever, and the lymph node problem. She received the shot on 05Apr2021, and her arm really hurt for 3 days. Then, on Sunday (11Apr2021), 6 days later, she woke up at about 4 am with chills. She was shivering like crazy. She was under lots of blankets. She couldn't control shivering at all and this lasted for about 45 minutes. She mentioned her side effects were not good. She is almost scared to take the second dose. When describing her joints, she explained it felt like somebody ran over her- her joints in her body, her feet, everything was sore. It's like the way one feels if they have a flu. Her joints are killing her. She hurts. She is tired. She has been swallowing ibuprofen and another product, PAIN-EZE, they were offering at work that has 3 different ingredients in it including aspirin, but she still couldn't get rid of the pain. She was unable to provide the spelling of the medication name, but pronounced it as "PAIN-EZE". She mentioned she doesn't take paracetamol because paracetamol doesn't do anything for her. She clarified the ibuprofen kicked in for a while, but did not last. Her mom is a registered nurse (RN) and she called her, and her mom told her some people get over symptoms sooner, everybody's different. She wanted to know why her symptoms began 5-6 days after the vaccine. She was in the ER and she had a headache real bad and she was given a migraine cocktail that included diphenhydramine (BENADRYL), tramadol, and something else so that she wouldn't throw up. She clarifies she went to the ER for that particular migraine because once in a while she can't get rid of it. She confirms she had this event prior to the COVID vaccine. She mentions she worked as a nursing assistant and medical aide and had flu shot after flu shot and never had anything happen like this. She has never had any reaction to any vaccine. She wasn't sick when she went into get the shot. All these symptoms came after the shot. No relevant tests done. She was trying to get through this and go back to work. She was hoping these side effects will end soon. She still has the chills, everything aches. When she takes Ibuprofen, it will take the pain away for a little awhile, but it doesn't completely take it away, it just numbs it out. She had just been trying to get through it. The events did not require emergency room visit nor a physician office visit. The patient had not recovered from pain in her right arm, joint pain, and everything was sore, recovered from shivering on 11Apr2021, while unknown for the rest of the events.
