Symptomtext

Pleuritic chest pain started 11 days following vaccinations and hemoptysis 13 days following vaccinations, with markedly elevated D-dimer. Right lower lobe segmental and sub-segmental pulmonary emboli and pulmonary infarction with pleural effusion diagnosed by contrast CT. Enoxaparin 1 mg/kg SQ q12 X 2 dosed followed by standard dose apixaban loading doses and therapy. Full symptomatic recovery after 1-2 weeks.

Patient received Arexvy (RSV vaccine) and Afluria (flu shot) in one arm and the patient had reddness and swelling from the injectionsite all the ay down to elbow. Patient is also having some pain in the arm.

Patient stats about 24 hours after receiving both COVID and Flu vaccine to left deltoid she started to develop rash to chest, neck and face, arms. She states she had slight swelling and feeling of dry lips. She took a benadrly took a nap and woke up with rash going to abdomen and legs. She took benadryl this morning due to worsening rash,. She reports never having allergic reaction to anything before. Assessment- Hives throughout upper body and now legs- Lymph node swelling to left cervical - left deltoid was where both Flu and COVID vaccines were given. 10/8- Vaccines given 10/9- rash develops 10/10 seen at Clinic- given Prednisone 40 mg x 5 days and instructed to take benadryl OTC - if symptoms do not improve or worsen after starting treatment follow up.

Symptomtext

Covid shot burned/felt like stinging as it was administered, and feeling lasted for a few hours after injection before starting to subside. Starting the morning of 10/4 woke up tired/fatigued with a headache and body aches. Arm very sore at injection site and hurts to lift arm. Had taken 400mg Advil the evening of 10/3 around 10pm, and again 10/4 around 3am and 8am. Around 3:30pm of 10/4 existing symptoms got worse and additionally got chills and a fever of 101.1F. Took 500mg Tylenol around 5pm and chills subsided around 5:30 and temperature went down to 99F. Morning of 10/5 woke up with no fever and had taken no additional medication, still tired/fatigued with a headache and muscle aches but all less severe than 10/4. Arm still very sore and painful to raise arm. Around 9:30pm noticed the injection site now had a large red blotch over it
