Symptomtext
nauseated; did not quite have equilibrium; severe vertigo; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Consumer or other non HCP) from medical information team for a Pfizer sponsored program. The reporter is the patient. A 64 year-old female patient received bnt162b2 (BNT162B2), administered in deltoid left, administration date 22Apr2021 11:50 (Lot number: EWU169/EWU1U9/EW0169) at the age of 64 years as dose 1, single for covid-19 immunisation. Relevant medical history included: "Autoimmune issues run in my family" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: The patient had them too but and she did not take medications for them; "sick" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: a year ago; "fatigue" (unspecified if ongoing); "chills" (unspecified if ongoing); "stomach pain" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: felt someone punched in stomach; "Fibromyalgia" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: She was hit from rear end and got whiplash. May caused her hand to fall asleep.; "It was diminished taste" (unspecified if ongoing); "It was altered smell" (unspecified if ongoing); "Covid-19", start date: Apr2020 (unspecified if ongoing). Family history included: "mononucleosis" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: a year ago; "Feeling horrible and wanted to stay in bed for days" (unspecified if ongoing); "mother has rheumatoid arthritis" (unspecified if ongoing). The patient's concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: VERTIGO (non-serious) with onset 23Apr2021, outcome "unknown", described as "severe vertigo"; NAUSEA (non-serious), outcome "unknown", described as "nauseated"; BALANCE DISORDER (non-serious), outcome "unknown", described as "did not quite have equilibrium". Additional information: The patient got the first shot and on the first day everything was good. Her arm did not hurt. The patient was not really tired. The next day, the patient got extreme vertigo, room spinning, nausea and wanting to throw up. The next day, she woke up and had severe vertigo. The room was spinning and she was nauseated. She did not throw up. She ate ginger candy, which helped tremendously. She did not have that problem, she was very healthy. She did have some minor auto immune issues that run in her family. The patient had a mild case of Covid a year ago in Apr2020, because her partner had a slight fever and felt kind of horrible one night. The next day the caller woke up with classic symptoms, headaches, chills, was exhausted. Could not taste anything and smelled a horrible smell. She still felt like a little bit like she was moving her head back and forth too fast but it is getting less. It was a couple of days, it was not really bad, she could feel it kind of but the real extreme for about a day and a half. She could still kind of feel it a little but not quite, did not quite have equilibrium, it was not that horrible spinning. Then again she wouldn't move, she was very careful how she moved. The patient did not take anything before hand like Aspirin and is not on any medication. That may have caused her hand to fall asleep she went to the doctor and they said she had Fibromyalgia. She thought that was something the doctors just tell people. She did not think that was a real diagnosis. She was fine now. No follow-up attempts are possible. No further information is expected.
