Symptomtext

The patient is a 61-year-old female who came to the ED via EMS on 7/29/2022. She was admitted to the hospital after testing positive to COVID-19. Her symptoms when presenting at the ED were nonstop coughing and significant weakness. The patient has risk factors of history of cerebral palsy and recurrent bronchitis. Chest x-ray did not show a definitive infiltrate. The patient was started on IV remdesivir due to risk factors. Patient had borderline O2 sats on room air in the emergency room between 90% and 93%. Likely the patient will be staying over an additional midnight stay. Based on high risk for worsening condition and possibly requiring O2 supplementation, recommendation is to maintain current inpatient status.
