Patient called into our pharmacy on 11-22-22 and spoke to pharmacist. Patient reported that she was still experiencing pain in her arm, and that she was having difficulty lifting her arm higher than chest height. Patient was concerned if they had gotten the injection in the joint. I spoke with the technician who administered the vaccine, and he described his administration technique. He did not recall this specific appointment, but said that it might be possible that he may have injected slightly too high and caused a tendon injury, but not an injection in the joint. I tried to call the patient today 11-23-22 to follow up, but the call went to a voicemail and patient has not called back.

At time of reporting, a new rash had started on right hip area. Patient states rash does not itch, is just red. Only first rash was "puffy". Patient has been using eczema relief cream to self treat.

3 days later she experienced awful nerve pain; trouble moving her arm; Initial information received on 09-Nov-2022 regarding an unsolicited valid non-serious case received from a consumer/non-healthcare professional. This case involves a 70 years old female patient who 3 days later experienced awful nerve pain and trouble moving her arm after receiving vaccine Influenza Quadrival A-B high Dose HV vaccine [Fluzone high-dose quadrivalent]. The patient's past medical history, medical treatment(s), vaccination(s) and family history were not provided. On an unknown date, the patient received a dose of suspect influenza Quadrival A-B high dose HV vaccine of lot no: UJ925AB and expiry date: 30-Jun-2023; at a dose of 0.7 ml (strength, formulation, frequency, lot number and expiry date: not reported) via intramuscular route in the right deltoid as Immunisation. On an unknown date, the patient developed non-serious event 3 days later she experienced awful nerve pain (neuralgia) and trouble moving her arm (limb discomfort) (unknown latency) following the administration of Influenza Quadrival A-B High dose HV vaccine.
