Symptomtext

Pt woke up the next morning with drooping to left side of face and eye pain/swelling. Pt was dx with Bells Palsy. Believed to be from influenza vaccine. Pt was treated with Prednisone and Valacyclovir. Symptoms are slowly starting to improve.

Symptomtext

Per patient, he began having shoulder pain a couple of days after getting the flu shot. It got exponentially worse over the next few weeks. The pain did start to taper and then remained the same. Feels like what he thinks a rotator cuff tear would feel like. Can not lift right arm during abduction or with any weight in hand. For example must use left arm to raise right arm to turn off a light switch, or it is completely impossible to pull bed covers up using right arm. Met with PCP (date unknown). Sees orthopedic surgeon 10.19.22. Unsure of what treatment will be at this point.

I woke up at 3AM on 9/19/22 with very itchy wrists. They were hot and prickly and would not stop itching. I got up and went to the bathroom and found they were bright red with raised vertical welts. I tried to go back to sleep unsuccessfully, by 6AM I was itchy all over and was covered in raised vertical welts on my back, near my armpits, and on my wrists and ankles. The itch feeling would be very hot and prickly and would travel to different areas. On 9/20 I went to my PCP. We agreed it was some kind of immune system flare up, and she decided to prescribe methylprednisolone in the tapered 6 day dose pack. This generally did not provide much relief and I had to take Benadryl in addition. By day 6 I was able to get by with a single Zyrtec in the morning, and have had to continue this in order to keep the hot flushing traveling itch at bay. Even on Zyrtec I'm more flushed looking than usual, and it is very easy to trigger the welts and itching if I touch myself at all.

10/20/22 I began having abdominal pains around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning that lasted about an hour which I thought was an upset stomach. About a week later, I had another episode lasting about an hour in the early morning that woke me up in my sleep. Then I decided if it happened a third time, I would go see a doctor. I happened a third time on November 5, 2022 at about 09:30PM. I went to urgent care the next day, November 6,2022, and they did blood work. My liver enzymes were way out of whack. My AFT was 355 and ALT was 336. I also had a urinary tract infection and showed e-coli, blood had a 2+ value, nitrate was positive and euclasites were 1+. I had a virtual visit at my PCPs office. I went in that afternoon and had a Hepatitis test was done, no findings. My AFT was down to 67. The ALT was down to 190. Both are still high. On November 23, I tested again, having no episodes in that time frame. The AFT was down to normal at 20 and the ALT was down to normal at 27. The following day, 11/24/22, I had another attack that lasted an hour. I went into urgent care the next morning. I was tested again and my ALT was at 182 and AFT was at 146, both high again. On 12/5/22 I had a CT on my abdomen and pelvis. The results were nothing remarkable. There was no urinary tract calculus or evidence of urinary infection. No abnormalities detected in pelvis or abdomen. No evidence of biliary obstruction or acute hepatic abnormality. On 12/7/22 at around 5:30PM, I started having another episode. This episode lasted at least five hours. I went to the emergency room and ended up getting pain medication around 10:30 and medicine for nausea. I ended up leaving against medical advice at 03:00 in the morning having not seen a provider. The pain medication had worn off and the pain was gone. The pain went from being upper abdominal pain to more central and in the middle of the back towards the spine. In the ER they tested my AFT which was 193 and my ALT was 109. About midnight on 12/11/22 into 12/12/22, I had a full hour episode of the same type of abdominal pain that started in upper abdomen, some in the middle and also back pain. I have an appointment with a Hepatologist January 20.2023. I have not recovered.

It started off with a severe headache, chills, body aches, cough, sinuses are stuffy, and very sore throat it felt like I was swallowing glass. I tested positive for COVID-19 at home. I talked to my doctor and they prescribed me Paxlovid and Benzonatate. I still have a bad cough and body pains.

blister had developed about an inch and a half from the injection puncture site; Initial information received on 28-Sep-2022 regarding an unsolicited valid non-serious case received from a pharmacist. This case involves a 26 years old female patient who experienced blister had developed about an inch and a half from the injection puncture site after receiving vaccine INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE [FLUZONE QIV]. The patient's past medical history, medical treatment(s), vaccination(s) and family history were not provided. On 26-Sep-2022, the patient received a 0.5 ml dose of suspect INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE once ( lot UT7689JA; 30-Jun-2024) via intramuscular route in the right arm for Immunization. On an unknown date the patient developed a non-serious event blister had developed about an inch and a half from the injection puncture site (Vaccination site vesicles) (unknown latency) following the administration of INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE. Action taken: not applicable. It was not reported if the patient received a corrective treatment for the event (Vaccination site vesicles). At time of reporting, the outcome was Unknown for the event.

Symptomtext

With-n 10 minutes I had extreme nausea, clammy skin. Nausea progressed until I had to take Zofran to control it. A few hours later I began to feel pressure in my ears and throat as well as head to toe itchiness. Ear and throat pressure subsided after taking an antihistamine, but the itchiness remained until the next afternoon. I did not seek medical attention for any of these reactions.

Symptomtext

Nurse attempted to administer a FLUZONE QIV NP pre-filled syringe into a patient's right arm and all of the medication leaked from the barrel of the syringe onto the patient's arm with no reported adverse event; Initial information received on 07-Oct-2022 regarding an unsolicited valid non-serious case received from a consumer/non-hcp. This case involves a 38 years old female patient and the nurse attempted to administer a fluzone qiv np pre-filled syringe into a patient's right arm and all of the medication leaked from the barrel of the syringe onto the patient's arm with no reported adverse event while receiving vaccine INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE [FLUZONE QIV]. The patient's past medical history, medical treatment(s), vaccination(s) and family history were not provided. On 07-Oct-2022, the patient received a dose of 0.5 ml of suspect INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE (formulation: prefilled syringe, strength: unknown) lot UT7689JA, expiration date: 30-Jun-2023 via intramuscular route in the right arm for Influenza. On 07-OCT-2022 the nurse attempted to administer a fluzone qiv np pre-filled syringe into a patient's right arm and all of the medication leaked from the barrel of the syringe onto the patient's arm with no reported adverse event (accidental exposure to product) same day following the administration of INFLUENZA QUADRIVAL A-B VACCINE. Administering Nurse states that the needle did not click as it normally does when applied to the pre-filled syringe. Patient did not receive any of the dose and FLUZONE QIV NP was re-administered. Leaking occurred during injection and from the bottom of the syringe barrel. PTC First Noticed : 2022-10-07 .PTC assessment medical/Physical : Medical Action taken was not applicable. It was not reported if the patient received a corrective treatment for the event (Nurse attempted to administer a FLUZONE QIV NP pre-filled syringe into a patient's right arm and all of the medication leaked from the barrel of the syringe onto the patient's arm with no reported adverse event). At time of reporting, the outcome was Unknown for the event. This suspected adverse reaction report is submitted and classified as a medication error solely and exclusively to ensure the marketing authorization holder's compliance with the requirements set out in the Directive 2001/83/EC and Module VI of the Good Pharmacovigilance Practices. The classification as a medical error is in no way intended, nor should it be interpreted or construed as an allegation or claim made by the marketing authorization holder that any third party has contributed to or is to be held liable for the occurrence of this medication error.
