platelet level drop, continue dropping after the booster, platelets dropped 30 and come up to 40 the last month; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of PLATELET COUNT DECREASED (platelet level drop, continue dropping after the booster, platelets dropped 30 and come up to 40 the last month) in an 84-year-old male patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (batch nos. 004F21A, MOD 011L20A and M-010M20A) for COVID-19 vaccination. No Medical History information was reported. On 11-Jan-2021, the patient received first dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (unknown route) 1 dosage form. On 08-Feb-2021, received second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (unknown route) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 26-Aug-2021, received third dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (unknown route) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. In August 2021, the patient experienced PLATELET COUNT DECREASED (platelet level drop, continue dropping after the booster, platelets dropped 30 and come up to 40 the last month) (seriousness criterion medically significant). At the time of the report, PLATELET COUNT DECREASED (platelet level drop, continue dropping after the booster, platelets dropped 30 and come up to 40 the last month) outcome was unknown. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): In 2021, Platelet count decreased: platelet dropped (Low) Platelet dropped. For mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Unknown), the reporter did not provide any causality assessments. No concomitant medications were reported. No treatment medications were reported. The patient had a record of his blood work, patient checked regularly due to his cholesterol. The event first occurred after the administration of the first dose, and it was reported again after the second dose associated with the diagnosis of Leukemia. It is unknown if thrombocytopenia reoccurred or worsened after each dose. The recent diagnosis of Leukemia is a major confounder. The benefit-risk relationship of mRNA-1273 Vaccine is not affected by this report. Further information was requested.
