COVID-19; Lack of drug effect; This spontaneous case was reported by a nurse and describes the occurrence of COVID-19 (COVID-19) and VACCINATION FAILURE (Lack of drug effect) in a 30-year-old female patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (batch nos. 007C21A and 020B21A-1) for COVID-19 vaccination. Patient had no allergies to medications, food, and other product. It was unknown patient had acute illnesses at the time of vaccination and up to one month before. On 26-Mar-2021, the patient received first dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) 1 dosage form. On 29-Apr-2021, received second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 26-Nov-2021, the patient experienced COVID-19 (COVID-19) and VACCINATION FAILURE (Lack of drug effect). At the time of the report, COVID-19 (COVID-19) and VACCINATION FAILURE (Lack of drug effect) outcome was unknown. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): On 26-Nov-2021, SARS-CoV-2 test: positive (Positive) Positive. For mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular), the reporter did not provide any causality assessments. No concomitant medication information was provided. No treatment medication were provided. Company comment-This Spontaneous case concerns a 30-year-old, female patient with no medical history reported, who experienced non serious unexpected AESI event of COVID 19 (with a positive SARS-CoV-2 test), approximately 6 months 28 days after receiving the second dose of mRNA-1273 Vaccine. The patient received both the doses of mRNA-1273 Vaccine 34 days apart. Hence vaccination failure is considered in the case. No further details on clinical course, lab test results and treatment received were reported. At the time of the reporting, outcome of the event was unknown. Current pandemic situation of COVID 19 could be confounding factor for the event COVID 19. The benefit-risk relationship of mRNA-1273 is not affected by this report.
