Symptomtext

I have had a low-grade fever initially, chills, sweats, and very severe body-wide muscle and joint pain. The severe pain has ceased today and is now mild/manageable. But I'm still feeling pretty sick--chills, sweats, mild aches. I was just alarmed at the sudden appearance of it at 1am and the severity. It felt like years ago when I had H1N1, but worse. It was sudden and severe. I was moaning and crying all night. It seemed like a bit much from just a vaccine. I got the vaccine on Friday, spent the whole day in bed on Saturday and still in bed today on Sunday.

inflammatory arthritis / also diagnosed as seronegative spondyloarthropathy and ankylosing spondylitis. I stopped my DMARD, Sulfasalzine, in March of 2020 due to the pandemic. Research online suggested that I could have a worse outcome if it were to get Covid while on Sulfasalzine. So I am battling chronic inflammation and pain most days with tylenol and limited ibuprofen as needed. Each booster I have received has led to a fiercer reaction. From almost nothing from the first one, to this last event of body-wide unbearable muscle and joint pain, for which I was lucky to have a 2 and a half old Vicodins from a previous injury to treat it with. I cried all night the first night. It was so extreme. I considered going to the E.R. I did have the flu shot along with it the past two boosters. And the past two boosters have been terrible. Maybe it is from combining the two??

The reporter is the patient. A 45-year-old male patient received BNT162b2, BNT162b2 omi ba.4-5 (BNT162B2, BNT162B2 OMI BA.4-5), on 13Sep2022 at 12:00 as dose 4 (booster), single (Lot number: 2524) at the age of 45 years intramuscular, in left arm for covid-19 immunisation; influenza vaccine inact sag 3v (FLUCELVAX), on 13Sep2022 as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown), in left arm for immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history included: "seasonal allergies" (unspecified if ongoing); "GERD" (unspecified if ongoing). The patient's concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Covid-19 vaccine (Dose: 1, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 Immunization; Covid-19 vaccine (Dose: 2, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 Immunization; Covid-19 vaccine (Dose: 3, MANUFACTURER UNKNOWN), for COVID-19 Immunization. The following information was reported: PYREXIA (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered", described as "Continued overnight with fever (38.2degree C)"; DIZZINESS (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered"; HEADACHE (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered"; ARTHRALGIA (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered", described as "left shoulder pain"; MYALGIA (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered"; NAUSEA (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered"; ARTHRALGIA (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered", described as "pain in major and minor joint"; SOMNOLENCE (non-serious) with onset 13Sep2022 at 18:00, outcome "not recovered". Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of nausea, dizziness, somnolence, arthralgia, pyrexia, arthralgia, myalgia, headache. Additional Information: Event initiated 6 hours post injection with nausea, dizziness, somnolence, and left shoulder pain. Continued overnight with fever (38.2degree C), pain in major and minor joints, myalgia, and headache. Symptoms improved after taking 2x Tylenol and hydration improved after taking 2x Tylenol and hydration. No other vaccine in four weeks. No coid prior vaccination. No Covid test post vaccination. AE treatment acetaminophen PRN.
