on day 2 following the vaccination, she has redness and swelling about 1 inch around the injection site. Pharmacist recommended cool compressed and benadryl as needed. Recommended if situation worsens, to seek medical attention.

Symptomtext

Patient came into the pharmacy on 12/12/23 asking for someone to look at her arm. She had received Shingrix shot on 12/8/23. Patient's arm was really red, swollen, bruised, and warm to the touch. The area affected was not where the shot was given in the arm. It was located on her lower arm near the elbow. Patient proceeded to say that the redness and swelling keeps getting worse and very itching. Spoke to patient about contacting her primary physician to examine the area and potentially taking Benadryl to help.

Syringe issue Underdose

Symptomtext

Upon administration of the Shingles vaccine, the syringe leaked which caused the client to not receive a complete dose of the vaccine. Dr gave a verbal to administer a second dose of the Shingles vaccine to the client to ensure that she was sufficiently vaccinated. The client was informed of this and agreed to administration of additional dose today. The client tolerated the administration well and did not have any questions or concerns before leaving the clinic today.

Vaccine given 11-7-23. Pt started with facial swelling left side, cheeks, and lips on the morning of 11-9-23. Patient tried ice and benedril but that didnt help. He then made appt at Dr. office. no itching/not painful. Patient reports some swelling in the volar aspect of his left wrist, no nausea/no diarrhea/no rapid heart beat. Dx: ang, edema from vaccine
