Symptomtext

Patient reported to me today that her right arm is in pain. No redness, no streaks, no swelling. She has been to her PCP and was prescribed prednisone 20mg daily for 4 days on 10-29-21, then 2 more tabs on 11-1-21. Went to after hours care and got a third script for prednisone 20mg once daily for 5 days on 11-5-21. She is now taking ibuprofen and using heat 3 times daily on her arm. She is still in pain, radiates down her arm from shoulder to elbow.

Symptomtext

Patient called to report that she had been in pain since her flu shot on 9/26/21. She stated that when she was given the shot, she felt like it was injected a little high up and that it was painful as it was being administered. The next day she began to feel pain about 3 inches away from the injection site. She feels some joint and arm pain when the arm is in movement as well as when it's not in movement. There is no redness and the pain is not severe but she was concerned since this had never happened and since it has taken her long to heal.

Symptomtext

Sudden neurosensory hearing loss - At 11 AM on 10/29/21 episode started with ringing in the ears. At 2 PM I had loss 50% of my hearing. At 6 PM I was totally deaf in my left ear. I went to the emergency room and received 60 mg Prednisone and started dose at 7 PM. I was placed on 60 mg Prednisone for 9 days. I am currently tapering 10mg every two days and will complete the taper on 11/16/21. I had a direct injection of steroid into my middle ear on 11/10/21. To date (2 weeks after adverse event), there has been no improvement. I cannot hear.
