After 3 days of receiving 1st dose. I started having left side facial spasms. Symptoms continued with chronic left ear pain, vision loss, hearing loss and speech which lead to left side facial paralysis. ( Bell's Palsy).

On the day following receiving the first vaccine, January 20, 2021 at 2:30 in the afternoon, Patient's legs and feet became paralyzed and he was unable to walk requiring a wheel chair. His doctor was called and after determining he did not have another stroke, it was suggested to rest and wait for 24 hours. By 8 AM the following morning, January 21, 2021. The very same sequence of events occurred after his second dose on February 16, 2021.

They believed it was vaccine related to nerves as in Bell's Palsy. Still have bit of numbness in mouth otherwise ok.

broke his hips; lack of balance; severe COVID 19/positive COVID-19 test; pneumonia/ Breathing Coughing up blood; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of COVID-19 (severe COVID 19/positive COVID-19 test), PNEUMONIA (pneumonia/ Breathing Coughing up blood), HIP FRACTURE (broke his hips) and BALANCE DISORDER (lack of balance) in an adult male patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (batch nos. 002C21A, 006M20A and 026620A) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included Heart disorder. Concurrent medical conditions included Allergy. On 20-Jan-2021, the patient received first dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) 1 dosage form. On 18-Feb-2021, received second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 28-Oct-2021, received dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 13-Dec-2021, after starting mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine), the patient experienced PNEUMONIA (pneumonia/ Breathing Coughing up blood) (seriousness criteria hospitalization and medically significant). On 13-Sep-2022, the patient experienced COVID-19 (severe COVID 19/positive COVID-19 test) (seriousness criterion hospitalization). On an unknown date, the patient experienced HIP FRACTURE (broke his hips) (seriousness criteria hospitalization and medically significant) and BALANCE DISORDER (lack of balance) (seriousness criterion hospitalization). At the time of the report, COVID-19 (severe COVID 19/positive COVID-19 test) and PNEUMONIA (pneumonia/ Breathing Coughing up blood) had not resolved and HIP FRACTURE (broke his hips) and BALANCE DISORDER (lack of balance) outcome was unknown. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): On 13-Sep-2022, SARS-CoV-2 test: (Positive) Hospitalization due to COVID-19. For mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular), the reporter did not provide any causality assessments. No concomitant medications are reported. Patient stated they received the primary vaccine and booster around the same time. They had the primary series and booster in 2021. They are looking to get the second booster, and she wanted to know if she had to wait an amount of time. She stated her husband been in the hospital 3 times. Patient was currently in the hospital since 08Nov2022, and he broke his hips due to lack of balance from COVID-19. Patient stated that, she must wait 5 weeks before he could get the booster. Patient wanted to know if that was correct since her husband and her had severe COVID 19 and was hospitalized. She also wanted to know if you were not severely sick with COVID could she still take the vaccine. Patient was taking a lot of medication HCP is aware of patient had COVID. Safety consent to follow up with the patient's wife was received. Patient's wife preferred to be called. After Hospitalization due to COVID-19, Breathing Coughing up blood Ended up with pneumonia and Treatment received in the hospital twice during that 2 month period. Patient had Heart issues. No other vaccines given within 1 month prior to Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Patient received all covid vaccines in dosage form vial. Company comment: This is a spontaneous case, reported by a consumer, concerning an adult male patient with no relevant medical history reported, who experienced the unexpected serious (hospitalization, medically significant) events of Pneumonia and Hip fracture, and unexpected serious (hospitalization) events of COVID-19 and Balance disorder. The events Hip fracture and Balance disorder occurred on unknown date, the event Pneumonia occurred 46 days after receiving the first booster dose of mRNA-1273 vaccine, and the event COVID-19 occurred 320 days after receiving the first booster dose of mRNA-1273 vaccine. Redness is about 2inch x 2inch in a circular pattern and red area hurts when she touches it. The patient's medical history was not provided. Concomitant product use was not provided by the reporter. On 29 Dec 2020, approximately 1 day prior to the onset of the symptoms, the patient received their first of two planned doses of mRNA-1273 (Lot number 026620A) intramuscularly in the left arm for prophylaxis of COVID-19 infection. On 29 Dec 2020, patient reported she experienced a little bit of soreness right after being vaccinated, but otherwise felt perfectly fine. A big lump formed under the injection site that has not gone away. She reported that the injection site was initially not red. A couple days ago (4Jan2021), she stated the area around the injection site was very red and has evolved and gotten bigger and rounder (about 2inch x 2inch in a circular pattern on 6Jan2021), which hurts when she touches it. Received vaccine at 9:15am. At 11:50am felt heart pounding and pressure on the left side of my chest (heart location) my normal heart rate is 70's. heart rate at time of event 118-122. Blood pressure 157/97. (normally 110's over 70's) episode lasted about 4-5 minutes. Blood pressure continued elevated til about 330pm. (154/101). Called my primary MD said to call my cardiologist. Spoke with nurse who told me to go to ER. I declined and said I would watch it tonight and if it persisted I would then go to emergency room. The next day everything seemed to be back to normal.

Most recent FOLLOW-UP information incorporated above includes: On 01-Feb-2022: Follow up received: Added new reporter, suspect drug administration dates and batch number of dose 1 and 2 and treatment medication.; Sender's Comments: This spontaneous case concerns a 55-year-old, male patient with no medical history reported, who experienced the unexpected, serious events of intestinal obstruction, abdominal distension, abdominal lymphadenopathy, inflammation, vomiting projectile, diarrhoea and gait disturbance, and the unexpected, non-serious event of abdominal pain after administration of the second dose of the Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine on an unspecified date. The start dates of the events were not provided. The events intestinal obstruction and abdominal distension were assessed as life-threatening. All events were assessed as medically significant and resulted in hospitalization, except for the event abdominal pain. The report stated that 4 days after vaccination, the patient experienced an inflammatory response which resulted in abdominal surgery. He had swollen left mesentery lymph nodes which caused intestinal obstruction. The patient was at work when he started vomiting which was described as 'projectile vomiting'. He also had diarrhea and could not go to the bathroom because of the 'intestinal blockage'. The patient sought consult at the hospital. CT scan showed 'abdominal swelling dissension' and an abdominal surgery was performed. The reporter stated that the doctors mentioned that the cause of the inflammatory response was secondary to the vaccine. No other medication utilized in the hospital for treatment was reported. The patient was hospitalized for almost 2 weeks and was out of work for 3 months. He is now taking fiber daily and unspecified pain medication for the intermittent abdominal pain. The outcomes of the events were unknown at the time of the report. The rechallenge was not applicable as no additional dosing will be given. The benefit-risk relationship of the Moderna mRNA-1273 vaccine is not affected by this report. Further information has been requested.

A mild rash appeared near my injection site 8 days after my injection-followed by sinus headache and mild itchy skin all over (no rash or hives at all) for a few days. I have very sensitive skin and the shirt I had on seemed to irritate the area that day. I had no redness or any other symptoms-aside from some soreness the day after I got my vaccine. Not sure if it is necessary to report this as I did not require me to seek any medical assistance or had any disruption in my daily activities but thought it could help to share my information given the newness of the vaccine and evoloving experiences. On Tuesday, January 12, 2021 the day after I received my first dose of the Moderna vaccine I woke with severa muscle and joint pain, headache, pain at injection site unable to lift arm above head. As day progress I was extremely fatigued and began to get chills to the point I could not get warm. I left work and went home and had to put on three layers of clothes and a blanket to try and stay warm. The pain was extreme, still had a headache and a low grade fever. I took two ibuprofen and by 9p that evening the headache had subsided as did the fever and chills. Pain was more aches than pain at this point. This morning, January 13, 2021 the aches remain with some fatigue but also a red rash up the inside of both arms, wrapping around the outside of the upper arms down my entire back, buttocks and the back of my legs below my calves on the lower legs.

Severe sore throat, Problem breathing; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of DYSPHAGIA (could not swallow) and COVID-19 (covid 19. Severe sore throat, Problem breathing) in an adult female patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (batch nos. 002C21A, 026620A and 006M20A) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. Patient had no past medical history and allergies and also did not had any history relating to mentioned adverse event and both acute and chronic illnesses at the time of vaccination. Patient had no other vaccination prior to Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. On 20-Jan-2021, the patient received first dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) 1 dosage form. On 18-Feb-2021, received second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 28-Oct-2021, received third dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular) dosage was changed to 1 dosage form. On 13-Sep-2022, the patient experienced DYSPHAGIA (could not swallow) (seriousness criterion hospitalization). 13-Sep-2022, the patient experienced COVID-19 (covid 19. Severe sore throat, Problem breathing) (seriousness criterion hospitalization). The patient was hospitalized from 13-Sep-2022 to 30-Oct-2022 due to COVID-19 and DYSPHAGIA. At the time of the report, DYSPHAGIA (could not swallow) and COVID-19 (covid 19. Severe sore throat, Problem breathing) was resolving. DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS (normal ranges are provided in parenthesis if available): On 13-Sep-2022, SARS-CoV-2 test: Positive. For mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular), the reporter did not provide any causality assessments. Concomitant product use was not provided by the reporter. Patient had primary and booster dose on 2021. Patient was hospitalized from 13Sep2022 to 30Oct2022 for Covid-19. It was reported that patient was hospitalized for 3 times. It was reported that she must wait 5 weeks before he could get the booster. She wanted to know if that is correct since her husband and her had severe COVID 19 and was hospitalize. She also wanted to know if you was not severely sick with COVID could she still take the vaccine. On 13-Sep-2022, patient had severe sore throat and problem breathing as symptom of covid-19. Had massive hair fall event beginning approximately 2 months following event and continued for several months before hair fall began to return to normal. Acute hair fall event occurred 1&/2 weeks following second dose 9/13 and continued for several weeks. Just now beginning to slow. Have lost between 60 to 70 percent of hair at this point. Also following 2nd dose began to experience intense hot flashes , and loss of period, and additional hair fall occurred more on crown and part of hair with second "acute" shedding.
