I administered HPV and HepB vaccines and approximately 5 minutes later, patient fainted. He recovered quickly with no additional issues and left facility approximately 20 minutes later.

Symptomtext

Employee, 20 year old female, received her first Hepatitis B vaccine on 05/06/2021, ~3:00 p.m. without complaint. Today, 05/07/2021, she arrived for work at noon stating she feels lightheaded, nauseated, and was vomiting last night. She stated she has no difiiculty breathing, no rashing, no redness at site, and had no fever today nor yesterday. Clinic was called and employee reported symptoms; Clinic, as well as RN, and Dr, all felt symptoms were unrelated to the Hepatitis B vaccine; but symptoms were reported and VAERS form completed. Employee stated she ate yogurt and granola today before coming to work and has not had vomiting today and feels she can return to work.

Expired Engerix-B administered; This case was reported by a pharmacist via call center representative and described the occurrence of expired vaccine used in a 45-year-old female patient who received HBV (Engerix B adult) (batch number AN599, expiry date 8th November 2022) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included hepatitis B vaccine pre-filled syringe device (Engerix B Pre-Filled Syringe Device) injection syringe for prophylaxis. On 19th December 2022, the patient received Engerix B adult and Engerix B Pre-Filled Syringe Device. On 19th December 2022, unknown after receiving Engerix B adult and Engerix B Pre-Filled Syringe Device, the patient experienced expired vaccine used. On an unknown date, the outcome of the expired vaccine used was unknown. This report is made by GSK without prejudice and does not imply any admission or liability for the incident or its consequences. Additional Information: GSK receipt date: 19-Dec-2022 Reporter's comment: The reporter relayed information for adverse event report yet declined to be sent the medical information or package insert. Accepted to be contacted to follow-up the event. The vaccine administration facility was the same as primary reporter. Information was given but reporter declined it being sent to them. Symptomtext

after administering the vaccine, we noticed it had expired 7 days prior to. Called the manufacturer GSK and they did not have any studies in support of revaccinating the patient and instead, based on their inhouse analytical potency testing, the vaccine is within normal accepted immunogenecity if administered within 30 days of expiration date. Patient has not reported any adverse events at this time.
