The events "gingivitis / gum inflammation", "could not eat foods for 6 months", "the gums were painful, red, inflamed, and would bleed when flossed", "the gums were painful, red, inflamed, and would bleed when flossed" and "the gums were painful, red, inflamed, and would bleed when flossed" were evaluated at the physician office visit. The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: computerised tomogram: (29Oct2021) no bone involvement. Additional information: It was reported that after receiving the Pfizer vaccine 2nd dose, the patient developed gingivitis pretty bad. In May2021, the patient developed some gum inflammation for about a month. She was taken to the Dentist and was advised that there might be some food lodged. The reporter that it happened a couple of times. The Dentist referred them to an oral surgeon and confirmed gingivitis. She mentioned that the patient's gums were measuring 4 and 5 (unspecified). The gums were painful, red, inflamed, and would bleed when flossed. The gums went bad fast. Before this, the patient's checkups were great. She developed bleeding while flossing, and inflammation. The patient was reported to have an impeccable hygiene and all her previous dental appointments have been good. She had 4-5 inflammation and had gingivitis. The patient has Crohn's too and was attributing the gum inflammation to that, but after speaking with the patient's GI doctor, the GI doctor said that it was not related to the Crohn's. The reporter said that the patient could not eat foods for 6 months. On 29Oct2021, the patient saw a periodontist and checked that there was no damage to the gums and bones and was advised of deep cleaning in Oct2021 and Dec2021. Because it was so bad and there was all of this black rotten food in her gums, they needed future appointments too. The patient's gum ratings were like 1-2's like 8 months ago. They called the periodontist in Nov2021 to ask if it was related to the COVID-19 Vaccine. The doctor said that it was reported, and the vaccine can cause this. They opted out of getting her a booster dose as they spent several thousands of dollars on this issue with the patient's gums. The patient had a CT Scan to make sure that the problem had not reached into the bone.
