I felt my throat closing up, making it more and more difficult to swallow or breathe; my throat felt like a mild cold; more difficult to swallow; difficult to swallow or breathe; hives on my neck; swollen face and neck; swollen face and neck; This is a spontaneous report from a contactable consumer (patient). A 52-years-old female patient received bnt162b2 (BNT162B2), dose 1 via an unspecified route of administration, administered in Arm Left on 18Mar2021 12:00 (Batch/Lot Number: EN 620H) as single dose for covid-19 immunisation. Medical history included high blood pressure from an unknown date and unknown if ongoing. The patient's concomitant medications were not reported. No other vaccine in four weeks. The patient previously took polio vaccine for immunization and experienced allergy, nickel and experienced allergy, chloroxylenol and experienced allergy, cetirizine hydrochloride (ZYRTEC) and experienced allergy, clarithromycin (CLARITIN) and experienced swelling face. The patient stated that, "After the vaccine was administered (18Mar2021 12:00) my throat felt like a mild cold making it a little more difficult to swallow. As I was sent to the high risk area I was monitored by a nurse. Upon leaving I got into my car that was warm inside. As I was driving I felt my throat closing up, making it more and more difficult to swallow or breathe. I went to a (store) and spoke to the pharmacist there. She advised me to take Benadryl immediately. She noticed hives on my neck and a swollen face and neck. As Benadryl took effect the hives receaded and the swelling of my face and neck went down. I went back to the vaccination site and seemed medical attention from the (Department name) Department team. They checked my vital signs and released me after a waiting period without any further medication being administered. I was given an appointment for 08Apr2021. I am concerned about an adverse reaction at the second appointment. Is it better to wait a little longer for the second dose to be given?" Patient is not pregnant. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of the events included Benadryl. Outcome of the events was resolving.
