Symptomtext

After first dose of vaccine, c/o chest pain, SOB, diaphoresis, BL arm pain, jaw pain. EMS was called and assumed care for transfer to hospital. Contacted patient 2 days after event and patient reports that she was feeling well. She notes that she was not actually transported to the hospital by EMS. She notes that she was evaluated in the ambulance. Since her EKG was normal, she states that she elected to be discharged home. She notes that she believes that she had an anxiety attack as she has events like this previously. She notes that she has discussed the event with her PCP. She is scheduled for 2nd vaccine on 3/20/21.

Incorrect route of product administration

Symptomtext

Injection was given subcutaneously. No ill effects, but possibility increased for: 1) Vaccine not providing maximum antibody level 2) Break through COVID infection with increased possibility of variant development 3) Lack of sufficient protection of current variations, especially Delta Additionally, improper technique may increase pain, etc creating more negative attitudes toward vaccine. Studies need to be conducted of breakthrough infections to try to determine if improper injection technique was used. States administering training for vaccine administration techs must document follow up training

Parosmia

Symptomtext

Phantosmia (smelling smoke that isn't there). I had COVID-19 in late December. I had phantosmia from January thru early March but it slowly disappeared. But now after getting the vaccine in April, the phantosmia (smoke smell) is back. It isn't as intense as during January/February and is getting better but I still "smell" smoke occasionally.
