Symptomtext
Received Pfizer vaccine on 3/11/21 and 4/1/21. Presented to ER on 1/25/22 and found to be COVID-19 positive 2 weeks prior. Presented to ER with 2 week history of dyspnea that recently worsened. Patient has been having lethargy for the past 4 weeks, tested positive for COVID-19 2 weeks ago. He was in our ER on Friday for hypoxia on home pulse ox and exertional dyspnea. He was evaluated, had imaging and sent home. Patient states over the past few days he continued to feel worse. He denies any chest pain but has been having a non productive cough. In our ER he was found to be hypoxic, ABG with PO2 of 45, he is now on high flow at 40 l/min and saturating 91%. Patient appears comfortable. CXR shows COVID-19 pneumonia. He had a CTA performed 1/21 showed no PE. Patient is slightly hypotensive today but MAP is >65. Admitted to hospital. Ended up on high-flow. Was admitted to intensive care unit. Seen by Pulmonary Critical Care. He was started on Decadron. Antibiotics were added for possible suspected bacterial infection also. Blood cultures and sputum cultures were negative. Vitamin-D level was less than 50, supplement was provided. He improved significantly in the last 24 hours and he is off oxygen now being discharged home. On day of discharge he has no complaints of shortness of breath chest pain etc. Discharged on 1/29/22.
