COVID 19 Treatment; COVID 19 Treatment; This is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (Consumer or other non HCP). The reporter is the patient. A 53-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 (BNT162B2), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: SUSPECTED COVID-19 (medically significant), DRUG INEFFECTIVE (medically significant), outcome "not recovered" and all described as "COVID 19 Treatment". Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of suspected covid-19, drug ineffective. Clinical Information: A minor unpalatable taste was present when he swallowed the pills. This was typical of other oral medications he had taken. However, in approximately 1 hour a very strong chemical odor /taste became present. This continued to increase in intensity over the next several hours. This odor / taste was the most repellant he had ever experienced in his life. It induced gagging and a recurring urge to vomit. He did not take any subsequent doses of the medicine. At approximately 24 hours the odor / taste was still overwhelming and did not subside until approximately 48 hours afterwards. The odor / taste was still present and very significant 72 hours after the initial dose. He can still smell / taste this odor with every breath that he breathes and in everything, He eat or drink. No AE treatment and No Known allergies. Patient had other medication in 2 weeks. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 has been requested and will be submitted if and when received.
