BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO; OUT OF CHARACTER DECISION MAKING; FAINTNESS; FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS; This spontaneous report received from a patient concerned a 27 year old female. The patient's height, and weight were not reported. The patient never experienced a reaction to any other vaccine in past. the patient had no past medical issues. The patient had never experienced vertigo or dizziness and had no recent changes to diet, activities, or lifestyle. The patient received covid-19 vaccine ad26.cov2.s (suspension for injection, route of admin not reported, batch number: 205A21A, expiry: UNKNOWN) dose was not reported, 1 total, administered on left arm on 08-APR-2021 for prophylactic vaccination. No concomitant medications were reported. On 08-APR-2021 (upon receiving the vaccine), the patient experienced flu-like symptoms, a high fever and body aches for the first 24 hours. On 13-APR-2021, the patient began to experience severe dizziness, vertigo, faintness, mild headaches, blurred vision, and out of character decision making. On 16-APR-2021 at 15:15, the patient was hospitalized for severe dizziness and blurred vision where he had blood human chorionic gonadotrophin, complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel, electrocardiogram, blood magnesium level and urinalysis (results not provided). The patient was diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and was treated with 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl) (normal saline) and Meclizine (meclozine). At the time of this report, the patient was still experiencing extreme dizziness and vertigo. The action taken with covid-19 vaccine ad26.cov2.s was not applicable. The patient recovered from faintness, and out of character decision making on APR-2021, and flu like symptoms on 09-APR-2021, and had not recovered from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
