Symptomtext

53 yo F with reported history of anxiety, insomnia, bulimia nervosa, eating disorder, hypothyroidism, H/o Hashimoto's disease, asthma, dyslipidemia, and impaired fasting glucose. Had started increasing her activity level with more walking. While at first visit with PCP to establish care, pt received Shingrix vaccine in her left arm at 1634 3/13/23 (lot # K2B5N). Patient reported afterward she experienced body aches, shaking and chills, needing a hot water bath that night to stay warm. Also started a new medication "Beberbine 500mg po daily" for cholesterol and blood sugar metabolism. The next day, she developed pain in hips and buttocks and had significant morning stiffness. She started to feel better but then increased her physical activity from "sedentary" to "megawalks" which consist of 20,000 steps at a time. Developed worsening pain noted bilateral knee pain and effusions and developed bilateral shoulder pain, started in left and then right, she thought due to overusing them. Treated with ketorolac and baclofen. Then tried cyclobenzaprine. Tried multiple supportive care measures at home such as physical therapy, massage, Epsom salt soaks. Arthralgias with myalgias seem to respond significantly to prednisone. Initial CRP was 0.49 4/29/23 and rose to 0.9 8/2/23 and then 1.40 8/29/23. ANA positive. EBV antibody positive (immune). Diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica August 2023 and Giant Cell arteritis (biopsy negative). Patient concerned that Shringix is responsible for onset of autoimmune disease.

a stomach issue; tingling in her calves, mainly her left calf; twitches in her calves, mainly her left calf; pain in her mid spine/lumbar region; pain in her mid spine/lumbar region that radiates to the right; This non-serious case was reported by a consumer via call center representative and described the occurrence of stomach discomfort in a 66-year-old female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) (batch number K2B5N, expiry date 28-MAY-2024) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included shingles (had shingles in her mid 30's). Previously administered products included Shingrix (1st dose received in April 2023, refer case US2023137032). Concurrent medical conditions included osteoporosis. Concomitant products included PITAVASTATIN CALCIUM (LIVALO) and RISEDRONIC ACID (RISEDRONATE). On 29-JUL-2023, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix (intramuscular, right arm). On 15-AUG-2023, 17 days after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced stomach discomfort (Verbatim: a stomach issue), tingling (Verbatim: tingling in her calves, mainly her left calf), twitching of limbs (Verbatim: twitches in her calves, mainly her left calf), pain in lumbar spine (Verbatim: pain in her mid spine/lumbar region) and radiating pain (Verbatim: pain in her mid spine/lumbar region that radiates to the right). The outcome of the stomach discomfort was unknown and the outcome of the tingling, twitching of limbs, pain in lumbar spine and radiating pain were not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the stomach discomfort, tingling, twitching of limbs, pain in lumbar spine and radiating pain to be related to Shingrix. Myalgia Pain

Symptomtext

Patient said that one week after he received first shingrix he started having muscle pains but he still received 2 nd shot thinking that they are going to get better but he is still having pains all throughout the body even after 6 months and not getting better and the patient is thinking it is from the shingrix shots. He is going to discuss about his with the doctor at the end of the month at his regular visit.

No reaction but on 4/27/23 his arm became swollen. From the top shoulder deltoid area extending all the way down to elbow. It is all red itchy swollen and warm to the touch. Pt had seen his primary care in the morning and his primary care told him not to get the second dose.
