Received the 1st dose of Shingrix last fall / Should she get the 2nd dose?; confirm that it is genital Herpes; This case was reported by a pharmacist via call center representative and described the occurrence of genital herpes simplex in a 63-year-old female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) (batch number NB9D3, expiry date 16th April 2022) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis and INFLUENZA VIRUS VACCINE INACTIVATED (FLUCELVAX QUAD) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included genital herpes. On 7th October 2020, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On 7th October 2020, the patient received FLUCELVAX QUAD. In October 2020, less than 2 weeks after receiving Shingrix, not applicable after receiving Shingrix and an unknown time after starting Valacyclovir, the patient experienced genital herpes simplex. On an unknown date, the patient experienced incomplete course of vaccination. The patient was treated with valaciclovir hydrochloride (Valacyclovir). On an unknown date, the outcome of the genital herpes simplex and incomplete course of vaccination were unknown. It was unknown if the reporter considered the genital herpes simplex to be related to Shingrix. Additional details were provided as follows: The age at vaccination was not applicable for second dose. The pharmacist reported that the patient had 1st dose of Shingrix and a dose of FLUCELVAX QUAD on same day and experienced 4 flares of genital herpes simplex. Till the time of reporting the patient did not received second dose, which led to incomplete course of vaccination. The pharmacist inquired that if it is possible side effect of Shingrix and second dose can be administered. Health care professional states that she received a prescription for Valacyclovir on Oct 22, 2020. It was unknown if the reporter considered the herpes simplex to be related to FLUCELVAX QUAD.

Symptomtext

Several weeks after injection experienced gradual onset of leg pain in areas where I had shingles pain many years previous - behind knees, thighs, groin, butt - very intense when bending down, squatting, putting on clothes, getting in or out of car or on and off bus, sitting or lying down or getting up from sitting or lying down, rolling over in bed even painful. Gradually increased in severity over months since the injection and has not dissipated. I have practiced yoga with no problems for years, now painful to do it at all. Inhibiting my ability to work. I saw the doctor yesterday, 05/05/2022 - blood test taken and in process of considering treatment.

Symptomtext

patient received Engerix-B and Shingrix vaccines both on the same day in the right arm. Patient said he developed a fever, blisters and warmth at injection site, and pain in the upper arm area. Patient said that he called the pharmacy and spoke with one of the pharmacists and was instructed to either take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, apply a cold compress, and to contact his doctor if there was no improvement. Patient stated he took either ibuprofen or acetaminophen (he doesn't remember) and used a cold compress. He said the fever and blistering went down, however he was still experiencing pain and figured it would eventually "go away". He also stated that because it was during the pandemic he was not 100% comfortable going to the doctor's office. Patient presented today still with arm/shoulder pain, after having an appointment today (6/15) with an Orthopedic doctor and states he was diagnosed with frozen shoulder or SIRVA
