STATES SHE LEFT V/M AT DR'S OFFICE. DR.'S OFFICE RETURNED CALL, LEAVING V/M TELLING HER THEY WOULD "NOTE IT IN YOUR CHART".

Sharp shooting burning pain from left deltoid to bottom of neck; Sharp shooting burning pain from left deltoid to bottom of neck; This non-serious case was reported by a nurse via call center representative and described the occurrence of injection site pain in a female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) (batch number P39N2, expiry date 25-SEP-2023) for prophylaxis. On 19-JAN-2023, the patient received Shingrix (left deltoid). On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced injection site pain (Verbatim: Sharp shooting burning pain from left deltoid to bottom of neck) and pain burning (Verbatim: Sharp shooting burning pain from left deltoid to bottom of neck). The outcome of the injection site pain and pain burning were not recovered/not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the injection site pain and pain burning to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the company considered the injection site pain and pain burning to be related to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK receipt date: 10-Mar-2023 The nurse practitioner called to inquired that any information available on what patient was experiencing. The reporter reported that a patient received the first dose of Shingrix back and experienced a sharp shooting burning pain from left deltoid to bottom of neck. The reporter reported another batch number as 752BN and expiry date 20th May 2024. Then the patient came back for the second dose on 19th January 2023 and was still experiencing the adverse events from the first dose that had never gone away. The reporter consented to follow-up.

Provider were in presence to observe and ordered Solu-Medrol for patient. Patient stated the arm just hurts and nothing more. No other side effects were known. After 15 mins of waiting, swelling went down.

Concomitant products included RECOMBINANT VARICELLA ZOSTER VIRUS SURFACE GLYCOPROTEIN E (SHINGRIX). On 9th December 2022, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On 9th December 2022, unknown after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced drug dose administration interval too short. On an unknown date, the outcome of the drug dose administration interval too short was unknown. Additional Information: GSK receipt date: 9-Dec-2022 Reporter's comment: The patient was immunocompetent. The reporter consented to follow-up by email. On 4th November 2022, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. On 4th November 2022, unknown after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced incomplete dose administered, exposure via skin contact and accidental exposure while administering drug. On an unknown date, the outcome of the incomplete dose administered, exposure via skin contact and accidental exposure while administering drug were unknown. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 04-NOV-2022 Reporter's comment: Pharmacist reported that while she was administering a Shingrix vaccine in the right arm to a patient, 4-5 droplets of the vaccine came out around the base of the needle where it attached to the syringe while the syringe with the reconstituted vaccine was in the patient's arm. The pharmacist said 4-5 droplets of the reconstituted Shingrix vaccine when it came out of the syringe on the patient's pant and maybe the patient's arms. The reporter did not consent to follow-up. Additional Supportive Information: The 4-5 droplets of the reconstituted Shingrix vaccine when it came out of the syringe on the patient's pant and maybe the patient's arms, which led incomplete dose administered, exposure via skin contact and accidental exposure while administering drug. The case US2022161294 was identified as duplicate of this case. The case US2022161294 was deleted and all future correspondence would be added in the present case which stands as case of record for this patient.
