Symptomtext

Injection site became red, mildly swollen and mildly itchy. No dizziness, no shortness of breath, no nausea no vomiting. Skin intact, no pealing no rash. Reported mild pain at site of injection. No other body system involvement. The symptom started within a day of the injection and peaked the evening of 7/22/23 (about 30 hours after injection). The symptoms have reportedly improved 7/24/23 but are still present. Patient has followup appt on 7/27/23

Symptomtext

Patient called reporting that the day after receiving her first dose of Shingrix she developed swelling on the right side of her face, neck, armpit, and behind her right ear. This is the same side she received the vaccine on. She said her lymph nodes are swollen and tender to touch. She had redness only at injection site per her account. She called on 5/12/23 and stated it was a little worse today than the day before.

Symptomtext

Patient called to report significant swelling to the injection site, noticeable to another healthcare provider seen on day of report. Also reporting pain extending from the injection site up the side of the neck. Patient has used ibuprofen during the course of symptoms without noticeable effect on the pain or swelling. Recommended to also ice the area tonight and report to primary care if there is no resolution by tomorrow morning or if the symptoms worsen. Denies any other symptoms at this time. Symptom onset started the day after receiving the immunization in the afternoon.

Pt came to get his "second dose" of Shingrix on 3/29/23 per the pt request. The shot was given. On May 29th it was discovered that this was actually the patients 3rd dose of the Shingrix vaccine. The pt had no side effects or problems due to the vaccine.

Systemic: Allergic: Difficulty Swallowing, Throat Tightness-Medium, Systemic: Allergic: Swelling of Face / Eyes / Mouth / Tongue-Medium, Systemic: Lymph Node Swelling-Medium, Additional Details: Patient noticed swelling the evening of injection, flu like symptoms the next day and difficulty swallowing. Went to urgent care on 4/23/23. Took benadryl, prednisone, tylenol, and ibuprofen. Followed up with her primary care doctor. The swelling has improved and is no longer having difficulty swallowing as of 4/26/23
