Symptomtext

Vaccines given at 9:30am without issue. Family went home. Mom notes that at roughly 3 PM, she noted that baby was crying heavily and appeared to become stiff with a blue face. Mom patted her back and attempted to give 2 rescue breaths. She then retrieved her phone from the other room and called EMS. Around this time infant appeared to be "coming around ". Mom notes that she was somewhat sleepy after this and appeared to slowly become more alert. She had no jerking movements, obvious choking, or spitting up at the time of the event. She was more stiff than floppy. The family did not take her temperature nor did the paramedics that responded. Afebrile in office. By the time the paramedics arrived, she appeared to be relatively back to normal. She had normal vital signs at that point. Paramedics offered the option for evaluation in the ER but felt that the family was safe for continued monitoring at home. Mom preferred further evaluation here and proceeded to come to the office after discussion on the phone with nurse and recommendation by physician that they be seen. Seen at 5 PM again in the office. Monitored for ~40-45min. After long discussion and normal monitoring, family preferred to monitor at home. Mom nursed her in the office for the first time since the event and did not notice a concern. Normal behavior from paramedics visit through the following days. No further events or concerns. She has been acting normally since the event. She is breast-fed but does have emesis often throughout the day. She has never had a similar event. Rarely chokes on milk during emesis. Her maternal aunt does have a history of seizures. Possible rolandic based on the family description.
