next day, thigh became very red and swollen. two days after, redness spread, swelling became worse and painful. Child would not walk on leg due to pain and would not touch the area.

Irritability Skin discolouration

Symptomtext

About 4 hours after vaccination with PCV-13 and Pentacel, child remained fussy and then parents observed a purplish skin discoloration along the legs bilaterally. They got concerned and sent photos via the patient portal. They were invited back to the office and upon re-evaluation about 40 minutes after they detected the skin discoloration, all findings had resolved and infant was comfortable and in no distress. Vital signs remained stable. Her parents were reassured and citation describing the rarity of discolored leg syndrome was reviewed at the bedside. Comfort measures were recommended, family was receptive.
