Symptomtext

The patient returned to the aid station at around 10:30, complaining of swelling on his tongue and itchiness in his throat. Upon assessment, it was determined that he was experiencing an anaphylaxis reaction to the yellow fever vaccine, indicated by the redness at the injection site. The patient also displayed redness on his face with tongue and airway swelling. HR was slightly tachy at 98 bpm, and RR was short and shallow, around 24 breaths per minute. 50mg of IM Benadryl was administered at 10:42, and the patient expressed he experienced some relief. EMS arrived at 10:55, and the patient was transferred to the ED at 11:00.

Symptomtext

Patient had a rash surrounding the injection site of the yellow fever immunization. A rash began to form up around his waist line and then the patient's chest began to feel tight, not so long after the patient developed a wheeze and a cough. Patient went to Hospital to receive further treatment.
