At 4:00 pm on 10/24 I noticed my throat was sore As day progressed my throat got red and swollen and it hurt to swallow. At 6 pm I took an allergy pill - cetirizine and within the hour my symptoms started to go away. Very scary as I did not want to go to emergency room but I would have if the symptoms got worse.

received two fluzone hd qiv, the second dose was within an hour of the first with no reported adverse event; Initial information was received on 19-Oct-2023 regarding an unsolicited valid non-serious case received from a nurse. This case involves a 79 years old female patient who received two influenza quadrival A-B high dose HV vaccine [Fluzone high-dose quadrivalent] the second dose was within an hour of the first with no reported adverse event. The patient's past medical history, medical treatment(s), vaccination(s) and family history were not provided. On 19-Oct-2023, the patient received a 0.7 ml,once dose of suspect influenza quadrival A-B high dose HV vaccine (unknown formulation) (lot UT8157AA, expiry date: Jun-2024, strength: unknown) via intramuscular route in the left deltoid for Immunization and received two fluzone hd qiv, the second dose was within an hour of the first with no reported adverse event (extra dose administered) (Latency: same day). Reportedly, The caller believed that the patient thought she was getting another COVID vaccine. They have their clinics set up where patients can get both flu vaccines and COVID vaccines. They believe the patient became confused and received two FLUZONE HD QIV Action taken: not applicable. At time of reporting, the outcome was Unknown for the event. This suspected adverse reaction report is submitted and classified as a medication error solely and exclusively to ensure the marketing authorization holder's compliance with the requirements set out in the Directive 2001/83/EC and Module VI of the Good Pharmacovigilance Practices. The classification as a medical error is in no way intended, nor should it be interpreted or construed as an allegation or claim made by the marketing authorization holder that any third party has contributed to or is to be held liable for the occurrence of this medication error.
